One of my Favorite Albums of all time if not my favorite. Jay-Z is always forgotten as a story teller when people talk Hip Hop, and in this album was a story telling album. The lyrics, the metaphors, the beats, the samples, the emotion, vision you can create listening, its all greatness and what makes it even better is the songs dont have structure. there arent 16 bars than a chorus and repeat. This album is a masterpiece, it told the struggle, the real struggle of a New York man. dreams, aspiration, pressure, passion, life, triumph, pain. the pictures painted in this album tells the story. This album is everything to me cause I have a similar approach to the music as it relates to life.

That’s on some, Im going to get it, I dont give a fuck how I have to do it at the end of the day it will be mine. You can lock me up in a jail cell, but you will never lock my mind. You can lock me up in the projects and project buildings which is almost like a jail, you still are not going to trap me. If shooting, stabbings, drug dealing is what there is to live for, then you might as well take a chance to get more, it doesnt matter what happens. Its a life or death thing, everyday. Its almost like the american dream.
